Can it be Thursday now?23 July 2007
I would apologize for the scarcity of updating in this space, but no one noticed.
Anyway, anything I might have talked about would likely have consisted of my complaining about A) the fact that Performance is doing everything they possibly can to keep me and my velocipede off the street or B) the fact that my shoulder is still sore. Other than these things, there has been nothing much to talk about.
That will not, however, be the case come Thursday at which time Brenda and I are embarking to Key West to attend Naz and Jen’s impending Nuptial Event. There will be much reveling, imbibing, beach-going, photographing, and endless sweating. The idea of me voluntarily going to the subtropics at the height of summer is farcical, but I couldn’t be looking forward to it more. In addition to previously mentioned activities, I will stalk feral chickens and I will have discussions with Hemingway’s polydactyl great-great-great-grandcats. I have to make difficult decisions about how many Polaroids to attempt to bring and which ones.
(Oh. My. Fucking. Lord. I just called fucking Performance again while writing this and now my wheel won’t be there until Thursday. Which is a full week later than I was originally told. At which point I will call and it will be pushed back to fucking October, most likely. I am never going there again. Are you listening Performance? You are dead to me.)
And then, the week after getting back from The Conch Republic, we are heading for a long weekend in Toronto to visit my London housemate (ten years ago!) and also to see Canada for the first time and also maybe I will just stay there and I don’t even know how much of a joke that might be.
Then, on August 17th, assuming I haven’t officially sought asylum or found another way to seriously injure myself, I’m testing for 2nd Kyu. This means nothing to you, of course, but trust me on this: it’s about goddamn time.
And, once the rest of hectic August is put to bed, I have some plans involving screen printing. But you didn’t hear that here.
But until those things happen, there’s very little to talk about in these parts.
In the meantime you should go listen to this week’s Out of 5 because it’s a fairly decent mix and it was my theme, although you probably could have guessed that on your own. And that Handsome Family song is great. Go.

...and I shall be there to celebrate your success after your test. 2 days after. Giving you ample time to nurse what’s broken.
Hopefully.
So, how was Canananada?
